Pulling the Devil's Tail is a poetic expression that describes the craft of early American printing, the physical anatomy of a press and the technique of "pulling" a print. This exhibition of prints, books and objects by 35 artists is an overview of print practices including traditional techniques such as intaglio, lithography, relief and screen print, as well as contemporary methodology using digital processes. This compendium is curated by Michael Kirk on invitation of Prawat Laucharoen, head of printmaking and sculpture at The Horace Mann School.
